Covergirl Capital Collection: The Hunger Games - Catching Fire

I am so excited that Covergirl has recently released their Capital Couture Collection! I am obsessed with the Hunger Games and I can't wait for the movie to come out on November 22. As you may know, alot of the make up featured in the movie is were haute and not for your everyday face. Isn't it great to know you can get the same looks as in the movies, but rock it with your everyday! Each district was given their own featured look by Covergirl in their expression of how they would be transformed if in the Capital. Take a look here:

I love the looks they put together for each district, because in the book/movie each district is assigned a profession by the capital and their main export is the designated trade. For example Katniss comes from District 12 who are miners. Covergirl did a great job putting together a collection that embodies the movie and the unique characters portrayed. As you know Covergirl is a very popular and high quality makeup company that in the last few years, have made moves towards a more flashy and couture look, and I think with their latest collection they hit the nail on the head!

If you are anything like me, Halloween is a great time to show off your creativity and skills by rocking killer make up with your costume. I love to stand out in simple ways and it's not as hard as you think to come up with a great look. Here are a few ideas for some really awesome make up!

Go Bold

This is the one time of year to rock a powerful face and why not take full advantage? Pair up a black lip with smoldering eye liner and a bold palate on the eye. This combination is not only fierce but sure to turn a few heads! 

Create Your Own Eyelashes

Get our your scissors and come up with a cute design to add to fake lashes. This is a great feature to really bring out a costume, so anyone considering a mystical touch, this is my recommendation. You can use any variety of color combinations with the eye make up and lashes, which can also be made smaller or thinner.

Red, Red, Red

I love any chance I can get to wear red, as it just pops any look. Grab some fake lashes, a colored contact, and light foundation to form the base of the look. Add small dabs of blood under the eyes for a full effect.

So, it's that time of the year again when creativity is in full swing and dressing up can be made most fun! I love finding any excuse to get a little out there and go extreme with make up and here is no exception. I have always found the Mexican culture to be one of beauty and mystic, so taking from their colorful culture, here is my interpretation of the Dia De Los Muertos look traditionally wore by those in Mexico during a celebration in which they honored loved ones who have passed. There is beauty in celebrating life instead of mourning it. I hope you enjoy my post.
